It is a privilege to write to you in the Club’s twenty-fifth year. Few private networks reach such a milestone, and fewer still do so having kept faith with the simple idea on which they were founded. That the Pall Mall Property Club has done both is a credit to its members.
I joined because of the people. I have stayed for the same reason. There is something rare about a room in which the most senior figures in our industry are happy to set aside their titles for an afternoon and simply enjoy one another’s company. It is in that spirit — unhurried, generous and discreet — that the best introductions are made and the most valuable friendships formed.
The year ahead promises to be a memorable one. We will celebrate twenty-five years at our Summer Party in July, and continue our monthly lunches at the Royal Automobile Club through the autumn. I hope to see as many of you as possible at both, and to welcome the guests you choose to bring.
My thanks go to my fellow committee members, who give their time freely, and to every member who makes the Club what it is. Here is to the next twenty-five years.
